Thomas Eugene Sexton, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Tom was born on September 1, 1935, in New London, WI, the last of 10 children to the late Martin and Anna (Dietz) Sexton. He grew up on the family farm in Dale, WI and later, in the town of Hortonville, WI. After a stint in the Army, he was employed at Fox Tractor Company. On May 26th, 1962, he married Lynn J. Wunderlich at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton, where they lived and raised four children. After 20 years at Fox Tractor, Tom went to work at Wisconsin Tissue Mills. After the couple’s retirement, they moved to Lower Post Lake, in Elcho, WI where they were members of Holy Family Catholic Church. “Up North”, they enjoyed the beauty of nature and wildlife in their surroundings, their new friends, their church, and trips to the casinos. Tom was an avid hunter all of his life, as well as a fan of the Saint Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include two sons, Bart (Adair) Sexton of Rhinelander, WI and Ryan Sexton of Appleton, WI; two daughters, Lisa (Charles) Thomas of Brandon, FL and Amy (Chad Szarkowitz) Sexton of Greenville, WI; granddaughters Lauren (Alissa Dean) Sexton and Kiah (Noah) Druckrey-Sexton, Amanda (James) Challe, Miranda (Garrett) Hoewisch, and Kaila (Nick) Mathison; great grandsons Jameson Challe, Sullivan and Jackson Mathison; great granddaughters Faith Challe, Ruth, Rose and Nora Hoewisch; and his sister-in-law Carol Sexton.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lynn Sexton, his six sisters: Alice Sommers, Mary Krueger, Nora Egan, Agnes Rohan, Ann Plummer, and Rosemary (Ocie) Tusler; and his three brothers: Patrick, Dennis, and Martin Sexton.

The Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Kimberly, Wisconsin. Visitation will take place prior to Mass from 9:00 am. There will be a luncheon buffet at Tanner’s in Kimberly after the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Elcho, Wisconsin.
