It is with great sadness in our hearts to announce the that our son, brother, uncle Terry F. Van Roy “from Darboy, oh boy!”, has gone to the big race track in heaven taking the final checkered flag on Christmas Eve morning, Dec. 24, 2022. Terry was born March 12th, 1967 to Ronald and Linda (Hahnemann) Van Roy in Appleton, Wisconsin. He has lived his whole life in Darboy and went to Holy Angels and graduated from Kimberly High School.
At 18 years old after being a car owner for a couple years, he started his racing career in the Figure 8 division at WIR. A couple years later he did double duty and raced in the Street Stock division. He has the most Championships at WIR between the Figure 8 and Street Stock classes and has won Championships at Slinger also in the Figure 8’s. He also raced dirt at Chilton, Oshkosh and 141 in the Grand National division and won Championships at each of those tracks also. He also had the opportunity to race Late Model for Steve Hollman.
Terry was a soft spoken, gentle, kind guy with a heart of gold. He would help anybody he could at the track or at home working on cars for people.
He is survived by his parents Ron and Linda; sister Wendy (Tom Thiel) and their son Robby Thiel (Emily Montgomery) and their son Lucas and Baby Abby due in spring; brother Randy (Jessie Gracyalny) and their sons Logan and Brett (godson). He is also survived by many aunts and uncles and cousins, and many friends and fans.
He is preceded in death by his brother Robby; grandparents Donald and Mildred Hahnemann and Harry and Delia Van Roy. His Uncle Matt Lenhart and cousins Kammy Lenhart and Luke Lenhart.
We would like to thank AMC, Theda Clark, Peabody Manor-Cherry Meadows and all the doctors and nurses that took care of Terry. Big thank you to all his friends that went to visit him, and a very big thank you to a very special friend, Ron Kohl for being there for him. We appreciate you all!
There will be no funeral, private family service was held. We will be having a Celebration of Life in the summer at Hank and Karen’s Pub & Grill. We will post at a later date on Facebook and at the tracks he raced.
