I was born March 6th, 1926, in Rockford Illinois.
I attended Carleton College, Northfield, MN and earned my Bachelor Of Science Degree at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. While at Carleton, I took flying lessons and “soloed”.
In 1948 I joined the copy writing staff at WROK, the American Broadcasting Company Affiliate in Rockford. I also wrote dramatic programs, commercials and did some “air work”.
I married Donald L. Bowton on April 15th, 1950 while we were employed in radio. After my radio experience I served as Office Manager in the two businesses my husband ran, before his retirement.
For a few years, I tutored first-grade readers and also read to them which I truly enjoyed.
I LIVED and LOVED fun and laughter . . . playing Bridge . . . going out to eat . . . FUN AND LAUGHTER!
Survivors include Son, Bradley (Hannah) of Maryland and Daughter, Debra of Tucson, AZ.
The most-important lesson learned: The MORE you thank SPIRIT, the MORE “rainbows” (blessings) and “sunsets” (miracles) you have to thank IT for!
I ask that there be NO funeral/memorial service.
