Roberta Joy Chan

April 17, 1933 — August 26, 2019

Roberta Joy Chan, 86, of Neenah, WI, died peacefully in her sleep on August 26, 2019. She is predeceased by her parents, Huie and Suey Leung and her husband, Richard Chan. She was born in New York and lived for many years in Texas where Roberta and Richard learned to cook great barbecue.

Roberta is survived by her two children – Susan (Phillip) Beaver of Neenah, WI and Patricia (Michael) Lambuth of Aromas, CA; grandchildren – Nicole Beaver, Montgomery, AL, Jayla Lambuth, Sacramento, CA and Nolan Lambuth, Aromas, CA.

Mom loved quilting, sewing, gardening reading political and historical novels and most of all politics. She retired from the Harris County Clerks office in Houston before moving to WI. Roberta enjoyed traveling on the Big Red Boat to the Caribbean, an African Safari, to China on a river cruise and an Alaska cruise with the Chan family and her mother who was in her 80’s at the time.

A Celebration of Life and BBQ party, the way Roberta would have liked it, will be held at the home of Susan and Phil, 2986 Fairwinds Dr., Neenah, WI on October 5 at 5:00 PM. We plan to raise a lot of toasts in her memory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fox Valley Humane Association in Appleton, WI. Roberta was passionate to their cause.

We wish to thank Ascension Hospice, Lori, Amy, Kim and Kara for their kindness, care and support. A huge thank you to Amber with Valley Nurses Association Home Care who cared for Mom and helped her in so many ways. Finally, thank you to the best friends and neighbors anyone could wish for as they visited, played cards, watched TV and conquered many jigsaw puzzles together.
