Robert "Bob" Heilman

Bob passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born on December 10,1947 to Woodrow and Elizabeth (VanLinn) Heilman. Bob lived in the Kaukauna - Freedom area all his life. After graduating from Kaukauna High School in 1966 he was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper for 38 years. Bob loved retirement, enjoying it for 20 years, he often said retirement was the best job he ever had !

Bob and Monika (Abendroth) were married on March 5, 2001. On that day Bob also gained a bonus son, Paul Abendroth; as well as grandsons, Austin Abendroth and Spencer Abendroth. Bob had many special moments and memories with his bonus family. Bob lived his life as an honest and generous man, if he said he would do something for someone, he would do everything not to let that person down. 

Throughout the years he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidsons and taking trips to the casinos locally and in Las Vegas. Bob had a great love of nature and the outdoors so he would escape to his place up north to enjoy it all. He was an avid fly fisherman in the summer, loved duck hunting with his "once in a lifetime dog" Thunder, and enjoyed deer hunting with his grandsons and his friend Leo in the fall. He would always make sure there was enough wood cut and split to burn in his fireplace during winters up north. Above all, he would share his love and knowledge of the outdoors with his grandsons, Austin and Spencer. 

Bob will be missed by his wife, Monika; bonus son, Paul (Angela) Abendroth; grandsons, Austin (Brianna) Abendroth, Spencer (fianceé, Jaden) Abendroth; sister-in-law Diane Hauschel; as well as special nieces and nephews, Dawn, Diane, Bill, Bob and Dan.

 Bob was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Elizabeth Heilman; brothers: Bill, Jack, and Jim; sister-in-law, Joan. 

 Honoring Bob's wishes, there will not be a funeral service.

 Bob, my love, my best friend, I miss you so much. Love you, Monika
