Rene Marie Gilbert

Rene Marie Gilbert (Schmidt) passed away on May 8, 2024, in Little Chute, Wisconsin, at the age of 56. She was born on June 11, 1967, in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Rene, known for her love for her children and her passion for camping and ATV’ing, dedicated many years of her life working at Plexus Corp (1992-2002) before choosing to stay at home full time to care for her disabled child. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, Green Bay Packers and WWE on TV.

Rene is survived by her loving children: Joshua Gilbert, Jacob Gilbert, and Jonathan Gilbert (Melissa). Grandchild: Ethan Gilbert. Brothers: Randy Schmidt (Darlene) and Robert Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Gilbert; father: Harvey Schmidt; Mother: Betty Schmidt (Smith) and Brothers: David Schmidt and Roger Schmidt. 

Rene was a graduate of Waukegan East High School in Waukegan, Illinois.

A celebration of Life for Rene will be held at a later date to honor and remember the beautiful life she lived and the hearts she touched.

Mom, we'll always remember that special smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace, you always gave us through good and bad times, no matter what. We'll always remember you Mom because they'll never be another one to replace you in our hearts, and the love we will always have. Love you, Jacob, Joshua, Jonathan.
