Phil graduated from Washburn High School in 1953. After graduation, he joined the National Guard for 8 years and he also worked for Reese’s Coal Company, where he had a trucking route from Washburn, WI to many different places that he stopped along the way. Phil was full of life. Everything that he did, he did with such passion. He was a Square Dance Caller for 35 years and was inducted into the Square Dance Callers Hall of Fame in 2008. He also worked security for the Green Bay Packers which he was so proud of that he could work alongside his son Dan. He also did security for the Resch Center, where he met many stars and performers.
When Phil walked into a room, everyone automatically had a smile on their face and a glimmer in their eyes because every person knew that they were going to hear the wonderful stories and the endless jokes that he would tell.
