Nannette Christine Nimmer, 74, of Kimberly was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.
Nan was born on October 12, 1948, in Kaukauna, the daughter of Russell and Norma (Balgie) Brenzel. She grew up with seven brothers and sisters and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1967. She married Lee Nimmer and had two wonderful sons whom she loved very much. After divorcing she lived a strong-willed, passionate and independent life to its fullest.
Nan loved to take care of her children as they were growing up and worked various part-time jobs until she started her own interior design business Love T’ Paint. She was a talented artist, painting vivid sets for plays at KHS, could edge any wall without a hint of tape and brilliantly hang seamless wallpaper. She enjoyed having family over for meals, celebrating special occasions, spending time with her grandsons and her dog, the late QP.
Nan is survived by her sons: Chris (Mary) Nimmer of Appleton and Nuri (Robin) Nimmer of Moscow, Idaho; grandsons: Kyle Nimmer of Stevens Point, Andy Nimmer of Appleton, and Noah and Isaac Nimmer of Moscow, Idaho; siblings: James (Mical) Brenzel, Daniel (Kathy) Brenzel, Abbie (Del) Lewis, Bridget (Chris) Kurth, and Caroline (Rod) Meade.
Nan was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Norma, her sister Sarah Traina and her brother George Brenzel.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life this summer. To honor Nannette’s life, we invite you to donate to your local Food Pantry, Humane Society or favorite Art organization in your community.
Nan’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team of caregivers at Compassus for their amazing care for Mom, especially Karissa and Ashley, as well as their love and care for us, Nan’s family, during this journey.
Mom, we loved your hugs, your molasses cookies, your remarkable eye for color, your tenderness inside that tough exterior, and above all else your love. We will cherish every moment we see a blooming flower or budding tree as we think of you and the way you made our lives beautiful.
