Nancy Ann Zuleger

November 1, 1934 — May 21, 2024

Nancy Ann Zuleger (Otis) was born on All Saints Day, November 1,1934. Her address was 1101. God proclaimed who she was right from the beginning.

On the morning of May 21st. 2024 our beloved mother, Nana, Great Nana, sister, aunt and friend spent her time with us here on earth. Just a little after 12 noon, she entered the kingdom of heaven and found herself in the arms of our Lord Jesus, her beloved mother Arlene, her son Luke and her grandson Michael. We can only imagine what a glorious reality that is for her. She lived her entire life with her heart looking forward to that day. Nancy was the kindest, sweetest, nicest, most helpful, most giving, most grateful, most loving and most forgiving person. She was like the tree in the book The Giving Tree. She was full of grace, and she freely gave that grace to all. In the hard times she prayed. In the good times she praised the Lord Jesus. Thru all the trials of life, the pain, the heartache, the grief and the 5 years of metastatic breast cancer she never complained and always kept her faith in God. As her sister Pat said, “she was our hero”.

Those blessed to have had her in our lives are her daughter Sandra (Steve) Sprissler their son Ryan (Vanessa) Sprissler and their children Lula, Kai and Nico, their son Matthew (Bita) Sprissler, and their son Lincoln, their son Soren Sprissler and his daughter Adele, their son Christian Sprissler and his daughter Natalynn and their son Michael Sprissler. Her son Mark Zuleger-Thyss. Her son Matthew Zuleger, his son Taylor and his daughter Lauren. Her son John(Margo) Zuleger and their children William, Elise, Claire and Marla. Her son Luke Zuleger. Her Sisters Patricia (Mike) Haverty and Lynn (Greg) Theiss. Many special nieces and nephews especially Kristine Otis. Her uncle Donald (Toni) Rhode who was like a brother to her. And her many friends who she dearly loved.

She was also met in heaven by her brothers and their wives, Bud(Louise Otis), John( Doris ) Otis and Bob(Mertyl) Otis. Her father George Otis, her husband Robert Zuleger, her cousin Steven Rhode, her nephew Mike Otis, her niece Linda Welch, her great nephew Sean O’Connell and her great niece Brooke Richartz. And, as stated earlier her mother Arlene Otis, son Luke and grandson Mike.

She loved us all, so much. She was a good friend to all. She welcomed all, loved all, she accepted all.

She worked so hard in life. She had 5 children in 7 years. Later in life, she was a small business owner. She was still shoveling the driveway last winter at 89 years old. She was a volunteer at the St. Elizabeth hospital gift shop for 12 years and a good housekeeper. She loved her church and praying the rosary. She had a great sense of humor right up to the end. She liked all things that were cute.

The family would like to thank Moments Hospice for helping us keep her at home especially Ellen, Linda, Erin, Sophia, Emily and Charlie the chaplain.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 312 State Street, Appleton, at 11:00am on Friday July 26th, 2024. Visitation will be from 9:00 am. until 11:00 am. at the church. A private family committal ceremony will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

Thank you, mom, for the support in every way imaginable. Thank you for your warmth and kindness. Above all you will be remembered for how you embraced and defended the most fragile, with resilience and the grace that we, your descendants, can only hope to emulate. You were the wisest of us all. You are loved beyond words and will always be missed beyond measure.
