Michele Rae Berggren

Michele (Mickie) Berggren, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1955, in Appleton, the daughter of Will and Carol Mackin.

Mickie and husband John were married on September 11, 1976. The start of a journey that would span 50+ years together.

She will always be remembered for her love for her family and friends, along with her passion for sewing, flowers, decorating, reading and Billy Joel. She loved making clothes for her kids when they were younger, especially Halloween costumes for both her children and the grandchildren. Her back yard had always been her happy place, featuring her meticulously curated garden and landscaping that she refreshed yearly and it was always the talk of the neighborhood.

Mickie is survived by her husband: John; children: Brian, Amie and grandchildren Madisyn and Case; Andy, Mandy and granddaughter Lily; and Sarah; brothers in-law and their families: Russ, Scott and Jane; and Paul, Judy and Jessica and sister in-law and family, Camille, Michael, Elliot and Margaret and her brother David and children Zak and Nikki. In addition she is survived by other relatives, friends, and her sweet little dog Gracie.

Mickie was preceded in death by her daughter Jill; brother Steve and parents Will and Carol; in-laws Russ and Betty Berggren; Russ’s wife Jean; Great Grandma Gertie and Gramma Vi. We find peace knowing that Mickie and Jill will now be together.

The family has decided to celebrate her life privately and will not be holding a service.

Mickie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of ThedaCare Hospital-Appleton for their exceptional compassion and care as well as Doctor Thomas J. Beld, who supported her so much over the years.

She may have been dealt a lot of challenges throughout her life but after having fought so hard all these years, her love for her family and friends never wavered. We find solace that she can now rest in love and peace.
