Mark Edward Bates

Neenah – Mark Edward Bates, 75, passed away peacefully on December 10th with his loving wife by his side. Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend lost his 5-year battle with the ravages of Lewy Body Dementia.

Mark was born on April 1st, 1948 (no fooling) in Davenport, IA to Lucille and Donald Bates. The Family later moved to Chilton where Mark graduated Chilton High in 1966. Mark worked in the Sales and Service industry most of his career, but his true passion was restoring Classic cars, whether hot rods or muscle cars. His pride and joy is his ‘63 Chevelle that he had for over 20 years.

Mark is survived by his wife Linda, Children Tim Bates, Heather Shy, David (Kate) Pitts, Sara Bartizal and Jarred (Rebekah) Bates. Grandchildren, Riley, Rowan, Dylan and Quinn Bartizal, Vincent Ballinger. Siblings David (Trudy) Bates, Ralph (Theresa) Bates, Carol (Jerry) Hanna, Jeff (Cathy) Bates, Debbie (Kurt) Bushman, Ilo (Tim) Leary, Amy (Lyle) Bangart. Fur Babes Angelo and Gina, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by His Mother and Father Donald and Lucille Bates and Siblings Gordon Bates and Jean Doty.

A Celebration of life will take place at The Dome in Neenah, WI on Saturday January 27th from 3p-6p. In lieu of Flowers, donations to the Neenah Animal Shelter or any food pantry would be much appreciated.

The Family would like to thank all the Hospice Angels who went out of their way to make sure we had all the support needed during Marks last days.

“In my life, I love you more”
