Kathleen L. Nelson

Kathleen Lydia Nelson, age 81, of Neenah, WI passed away on November 19, 2022, after a brief illness surrounded by family.

Kathy was born on September 1, 1941, in Marinette, WI to Arther Sweeney and Violet (Nelson) Sweeney. She graduated from Marinette High School and, at the time, was one of the youngest interns at Ansul Co. After graduating, Kathy married Roger Seefeldt and they had 4 daughters.

In the early 70’s, Kathy moved with her 4 daughters to Green Bay, WI. She worked for Proctor and Gamble for many years before retiring and subsequently moved to Arizona to enjoy sunshine and avoid the harsh winters. Throughout her life, Kathy was committed to her faith. She was involved on many different levels in her commitment to her church. Whether it involved serving on the church counsel, involved in Bible study, offering time and resources to volunteering, or (her greatest love) music and choir.

Kathy had always been involved in music her whole life. She had been a clarinet player in school, part of the bell choir and vocal choir in Arizona, and more recently; a member of the Y-Nots choir in the Fox Valley and also her church choir at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Neenah. It is hard to discern which was more beautiful, her singing, her handwriting that looked like art, her giving nature; but I would just say her soul. She was always more concerned about how she could give joy to people in her community and would give freely to try and make the world a bit brighter with her time, energy, love and laughter.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Violet and father Arther, and a sister Maxine Eliason. She is survived by her sister Claudine Nelson of San Diego, CA, a brother Lyle Sweeney Sr. of Marinette, WI, daughters, Tamera Jilot (Ron) of Sturgeon Bay, Wendy Seefeldt Cramer (Eric) of Yuma AZ, Jodi Brazee (Bryan) of Neenah, and Julie Seefeldt of Neenah. She is also survived by her are 10 grandchildren: Angela (Joe), Alyssa (Lucas), John (Kate), Erica, Jacob, Abigail, Tessa, Blaise, Weston (Jessika) and Ashley. Additionally, she is survived by her 10 great-grandchildren.

Services for Kathy will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1140 Tullar Rd., Neenah, WI on Tuesday, December 6th at 4:00 p.m. There will be a visitation at 3:00 until the time of service.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Pastor Jon and Pastor Tabitha (Gloria Dei Lutheran Church) for their involvement, care, guidance and connection to our mom. On her last day, my mom gave everyone a message. She said the following: We are all human and we all do things we regret. There is nothing out there that cannot be forgiven. Forgive and move forward. The most important thing is LOVE!

She will be missed by so many.
