Jolene M. Scheurer

Jolene Marie Scheurer, age 61 of Appleton, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Brewster Village in Appleton. Jolene was surrounded by those she held closest and dearest to her heart.

Jolene was born February 1, 1964, in Beaver Dam, daughter of August and Linda (Draheim) Scheurer, Jr. She graduated from Beaver Dam Senior High School in 1982 on the High Honor roll. Shortly thereafter, she pursued a career as a flight attendant with Continental Airlines in Houston, Texas. She eventually moved back to Beaver Dam and graduated from Madison Area Technical College with a degree in accounting. She worked as one of the head accountants for Quarles & Brady Law Firm in Madison for many years and later worked for Findorff Construction. Jolene was living in Watertown during this time.

She moved to Appleton in December of 2012, and this is where she met her best friend, Lisa Monnot, who resided next door. The two became close friends instantly. Lisa was a Godsend, assisting Jolene with her doctor appointments when she had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. The Scheurer will never be able to thank Lisa enough for all she did for Jolene.

Her siblings helped Jolene with her yard work, cleaning, laundry, and housekeeping for the last 18 months. Jolene relied on them for that kind of thing, and she was very appreciative.

Jolene's passions included traveling and nurturing all of God's creatures. She loved her cats so much and treated them like they were her children. Over the years she had a pig, dogs, chickens, turkeys, and the like. Her eight birdfeeders were always full. she fed the squirrels, deer, raccoons, along with whoever else showed up and said, "She had permission!" so we'd smile and laugh, and didn't question her further.

Jolene's kindness and generosity was unmatched. She had such a big heart and was definitely the apple of her father's eye. They had a very special bond, and he was so proud of her and her accomplishments. He also understood, though it pained him deeply, as to why Jolene needed to distance herself for a time. Now she is blessed to be with her father again. Jolene's love for her family was very special. this love included her very close friends whom she embraced as family. Unconditional love was so important to her, and yet quite often foreign.

Jolene is survived by her mother: Linda Scheurer of Beaver Dam; brothers Fred Scheurer of Whitewater and Daniel Scheurer of Beaver Dam; a sister: Janice Scheurer -Stanton of Beaver Dam and her children Kassandra Scheurer and Samuel Stanton; and a great-nephew: Rhettley Marquardt; another sister: Annie E. Scheurer of Beaver Dam and her children Andrew Scheurer and Alex Scheurer. Other survivors include many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, as well as both her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
