Janalee will be deeply missed by all who knew her. First her children, Kim (Smith) and Brian Batterman, and Tim Smith, as well as her step children Mike and Rosa Freire-Reinert and Linda (Reinert) and William Turner; her grandchildren Nicklaus Reichel, Angela (Batterman) and Cody Schuebel, Amanda (Batterman) and Jay Probasco, Breyton Batterman, and her great grandchildren; Oliver and Amelia Schuebel and Elanora and Hazen Probasco as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended relatives and dear friends.
If anything could be noted about Janalee, it would be her caring heart and loving ways with others. One of her nephews recently said, “She didn’t have a mean bone in her body.” and he was right. She loved going for rides, gardening, and playing cards, most recently Garbage with Bill and Darlene Batterman, and she had the luck of the Irish as she most often won. Janalee was an animal lover and she really enjoyed her flower gardens which covered the entire parameter of her yard. She also enjoyed being with children and hearing about others adventures in life. She had a wit that is unforgettable, and she was a strong but kind women who would do anything for you if you needed her help. In the end she made up her mind it was time to go and softly fell asleep to join her maker during the middle of a Packer game. Be sure to give her a thought while you enjoy them play in the future.
Janalee was preceded in death by her mother and father, Arthur and Olive; her 2 brothers: Kenneth and Norman Pontow and their wives Shirley and Maryann Pontow; her sister Audrey Zoromski and her grandson Stephen Reichel.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at Pullman’s Restaurant in The Club Room at 619 Old Oneida St. Appleton, WI 54915. Janalee was cremated and will be brought back to the earth with her family and friends near her home in Menasha. In lieu of flowers a donation to your favorite charity would be much appreciated. She cared very much about her local community and would be happy you’ve continued to help it thrive.
Janalee would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors who assisted her through her end of life and other supporting staff for their care and compassion that was shown to her during her time of need.
