James V. Thompson, Sr.

James Victor Thompson Sr., aged 79, of Suring, WI, passed away on August 16th, 2024 after a long and fulfilling life.

James was born on August 15th, 1945 in Hammond, IN, the youngest of 6 children. James was an avid lover of automobiles. He spent much of his life working to provide and care for his family, having worked in numerous positions and industries over the years, including working as an automobile mechanic, carpenter, and carpet installer.

James married Shirley Baumgartner on June 17, 1967 in Crown Point, IN. During their 50 years of marriage, they had two children: James Jr. and Richard. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Kaley and Aiden.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents, Thomas and Alma; his brothers, Robert, Orville, Charles, and Alvin; and his sister, Sheila.

James is survived by his children, Richard and James (Tabitha) Thompson; his grandchildren, Kaley and Aiden Thompson; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

James will be interred in Union Cemetery in Breed, WI alongside his wife Shirley, with a celebration of his life being planned for September 20th.

The children would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice for helping us to make our father's last days as comfortable as possible, and providing both him and us with the best of care during this time.
