Gerald "Jerry" Quaas passed away peacefully, July 21, 2023, at ThedaCare in Neenah, surrounded by family.
Jerry was born April 19, 1951, in West Bend, WI, to Donald and Marilyn Quaas. He graduated from West Bend High School in 1969 and Moraine Park Technical College, West Bend in 1977. He received his journeyman's certificate, in 1980, in tool-and-die after a 3-year apprenticeship.
Jerry enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle all over the United States. One of his other passions was camping and fishing with friends and family. He retired from his tool-and-die career in 2018. He was able to fulfill one of his bucket list items by driving across the country to see the Redwood Forest. In his final home, he enjoyed sitting outside to watch the wildlife by the pond in the backyard.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Laura (Lane) Quaas, and his four children Jenny (Brian) Quaas, Becky (Jonathan) Bascue, Tom (Tracy) Quaas, and Will (Michelle) Quaas. He was enamored by his 9 grandchildren Justin (Mickie) Herbst, Sebastian (Brianna) Quaas, Alexis (Harley) Quaas, Stevin Quaas, Hailee Sullivan, Izzie Quaas-Blochwitz, Brooke Post, Oliver Quaas, Preston Quaas-Watson and extended grandchildren Justin, Jordan (Jayme) and Jarrod Sohre, and Dillon Drouillard. His 4 great-grandchildren Levi and Grace Herbst, Gwen Sohre, Rylee Quaas, and Xander (on the way). He is also survived by his siblings Glorianne, Russ, Linda, and Roger, and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother Marilyn, his in-laws William and Marion Lane, his brother-in-law and best friend Terry Watlzawick, and a son-in-law Bob Watson.
He was cremated by Heart of the Valley Cremation Services and in lieu of a funeral, there will be a celebration of life.
