Douglas L. McMillan, 75 of Neenah passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 30th, 2024. Doug was born March 5th, 1949 to the late Josesh and Vivian McMillan.
Doug spent the majority of his career working in sales in the beauty and barber industry. Later on he returned to working in retail at the local Target store. In his free time Doug enjoyed creating jewelry for his friends and family. Doug could also be found at the Genesis club in Appleton drinking coffee and playing cribbage. The Genesis club and its members were foundational in Doug recently receiving his forty years of sobriety chip.
Doug is survived by his brother: Joseph McMillan; his three sons: Douglas McMillan Jr., Paul (Colleen) McMillan and Jonathan McMillan; his three step children: Brandon (Michelle Dekarske) Daemmrich, Justin (Megan) Daemmrich and Molly Daemmrich; and his six grandkids Brianna, Adelynn, Carson, Cameron, Quinn and Harlin.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Roxanne.
A Celebration of Life is planned for a date later this summer. In lieu of flowers; a donation can be made directly to the Genesis Club in Appleton. Their mission is to provide a safe haven to those who struggle with addiction and to offer a better way of life.
We would like to thank the entire fifth floor staff at Thedacare in Neenah for their world class support of our dad. Especially to the oncology department and Dr. Klinkhammer’s team that treated our dad over the past eight months and to the hospice team that cared for him the last week he was with us.
