Douglas Dale Leith, 74 years, died May 17, 2017 peacefully in his sleep of congestive heart failure at Heritage Woods Thedacare Hospice, Appleton, Wisconsin. He was born August 17, 1942 to his parents Roy and Satira “Pansy” (Washow) Leith in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Douglas “Dale” was a graduate of Appleton West High School, Class of 1960. He owned Dale’s Tap on Oneida St. for several years. He also worked at Giddings & Lewis until it closed and retired from Curwood of New London in 2005.
On February 24, 1990 Carole (Behnke) and Douglas Dale Leith were married. They enjoyed their time together for 27 years. He loved to go camping with his family and spoil his furbabies. Cruising on his Honda Goldwing was a treasured pass-time.
Douglas “Dale” will be missed by his wife Carole, brother Sam (Lori) Leith of Kimberly, nephews Mike (Diane) Leith of Kaukauna, and Matt (Michelle) Leith of Kimberly, brother-in-law Tom (Marilyn) Behnke of Stockbridge, niece Dr. Stephanie (Jason) Slock and other relatives and friends.
Family and friends may gather Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10 am to 12 noon at Highland Memorial Park Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton, to share memories of Douglas “Dale”.
Dale, thank you for giving me 27 great years. I will cherish the memories you left with me. When you get to the Rainbow Bridge, enjoy DeDe, Midget, and Karli until we get there.
