Donald James Hansen

Donald J Hansen passed away May 12, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born April 17^th, 1947, in Winchester the son of George Hansen and Lillian (Romme) Hansen. Don was born with a heart condition and had major open-heart surgery in 1968. He was able to overcome these obstacles and against the odds, lived the life he wanted to.

Don graduated from Winneconne High School, class of 1966. Following high school, Don married Peggy Buksyk. They settled in Winchester and were blessed with 3 daughters and a son. This June would mark Don and Peg’s 56^th wedding anniversary.

Don was an avid outdoorsman and loved “most” animals. Like his father, he especially loved his feathered friends. Don had a knack for fixing, rebuilding or restoring anything with a motor. He felt most at home working in his shop. He was a book of knowledge to anyone inquiring on just about anything (whether it was true, or Don’s truth). Don also enjoyed his weekly pool games and was a member of his pool league for more than 40 years and made many friends along the way.

Don is survived by his wife Peggy, daughters Tina (Mark), Kim (Dave), Bobbi (Tim), and son Travis (Sarah); grandchildren Cody (Leslee), Mason (Courtney), Faith (Carly), Brieanna, Riley (Aimee), Joshua, Mikayla, Brady, Jake; and 5 great grandchildren; siblings Roland (Joan) Hansen, Dolly Olson, Jean Laabs, Joanne (Neal) Gullikson, Debbie Haase, Kay (Mike) Schwengel, Rick (Julie) Hansen, John (Rhonda) Hansen, James (Kerrie) Buksyk, Susette (Richard) Roou, David Buksyk, Joy (Todd) Henkel, Mike (Doris) Buksyk. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends that loved him dearly.

Don is preceded in death by his parents George and Lillian, and Father and Mother-in-law Dave and Marvel Buksyk, sister Doris, a brother Junior, brother in laws Alan Olson, Gary Laabs, Ken Haase, Denny Buksyk and sister-in-law Connie Buksyk.

There will be a Celebration of Life on June 4^th from 1-5 pm at the Winchester Town Hall Pavilion, 8522 Park Way Ln, Larsen, WI 54947
