With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Christopher R. Hoelzel, a beloved father who left us far too soon at the age of 47 on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, in Kimberly. Born on April 24, 1977, in Appleton, Chris was the cherished son of the late Robert and Linda (Fritz) Hoelzel and a proud graduate of the Kaukauna High School Class of 1995. For many years, Chris excelled as a Tow Motor Operator, where his strong work ethic and dedication shone brightly.
However, the joy in Chris's life came from the cherished moments he spent with his adored son, Ethan. Together, they created a tapestry of unforgettable memories—from adventurous summer escapades to exciting destinations like Mount Olympus and Six Flags to serene afternoons spent hunting and fishing. Family get-togethers further enriched their shared love for the outdoors in the land up north, and there was one fantastic vacation in the beautiful landscapes of Virginia and the Washington D.C. area, as well as many peaceful drives where laughter and conversation filled the air.
Chris leaves behind a loving family that includes his son, Ethan; his beloved grandmother, Ruth Fritz; his big brother, Greg (Joelle) Hoelzel; and his niece and nephew, Lydia and Luke Novak. He also had treasured friendships with Kevin Wierschke and Kyle Kelly, who offered unconditional support in trying times.
Chris was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Bob and Linda (Fritz) Hoelzel, and his beloved cat, Wendy, who brought him endless joy and companionship.
In this difficult time, we are profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love and support from all who keep our family in their thoughts and prayers. We are honored to invite you to a memorial service at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kaukauna to honor the life of our beloved Chris. The service will take place on Thursday, January 23rd.
The visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will last for 20 minutes, providing an opportunity for friends and family to come together, share memories, and pay their respects. Following the visitation, the memorial service will commence promptly at 3:20 p.m.
